Mark Climate Technology continues to develop, including in the field of sustainability and circularity. More and more often people are aiming for a LEED certification for a (new) building. That is why Mark has had her products assessed by an independent engineering firm for the LEED certification method. Mark Climate Technology’s products can score up to 11 points.

What is LEED?

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. The LEED certification is developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership. Available for virtually all building types, LEED provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings.

Projects pursuing LEED certification earn credits for various green building strategies across several categories. Based on the number of credits achieved, a project earns one of four LEED rating levels: Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum.

BREEAM vs LEED

BREEAM and LEED are both systems to rate sustainable buildings. The big difference between them is the process from the design to a certified building. If you choose for BREEAM there will be a qualified reviewer supporting you with the entire design process. With LEED you have more freedom in de design stage, but the certification process may require more effort and paperwork.
